Attention every one. All the Acer Travelmates 4000s and Aspires 1680s Have terrible keyboards. As you type you will suffer from dropped letters i.e. up to 3 successive letters even if you type with one finger and press on the center of the button real hard and slowly you still get dropped letter. So all serious computer users and programmers please be ware of the ACER line of notebooks. THE KEYBOARDS ARE A NIGHTMARE. I have just returned mine after 24 hours of purchase and I am lucky to get my money back. ACER AIN'T WORTH IT.

i meant travelmate 8004 of course, not 4003..

Upsides: Good display, battery seems to last forever, fast, rich in interfaces, very good value for price, looks good.
Downsides: Keyboard needs some time to get to used to, too hard touchpoint of mouse-buttons and 4way-scroll-button, no compact-flash-slot (but most of the others)
